Growing up in a little village called Kolonia, in Poland, Asia Piwka has “beauty” in all it's form. Surrounded by the forest, lakes and wild animals, “nature” found it's way to her heart, and to this day, plays an essential role in her life. Recycling, using copper bottles, using reusable cutlery, planting trees and picking up rubbish thrown in the forest, are amongst some of the actions she partakes in. Asia didn't grow up as the girly-girl and is proud of her “tomboy” status. She enjoys boat fishing with her brother and/or father while finding time for riding quads, horseback riding, motorcross, going to the shooting range and practicing karate. At 8 years old, Asia found she was a natural at basketball, continuing to play until the age of 16. The first mention of modelling came at the age of 15 when she would constantly hear “you should be a model”, but had always preferred the other side of the camera and started doing reportage photography. But the constant mentioning of being a model sparked the interest to give it a try. With the help of her mother, Asia sent some pictures of herself to an agency in Poland. Once she got the call for a meeting, she & mom jumped on a bus to Warsaw and signed on 2 monther before turning 16. From EU to NYC, Asia walked her first show in a semi-exclusive for ALEXANDER WANG and continued forward on the runways of CALVIN KLEIN, DONNA KARAN, MARC JACOBS, OSCAR De La RENTA, MICHAEL KORS, TOMMY HILFIGER, GIORGIO ARMANI, BOTTEGA VENETA, MARNI, MISSONI, JOHN GALLIANO and JEAN PAUL GAULTIER amongst many others. She has been featured in publications including Vogue Paris, Vogue Brazil, Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Mixte, Harper's Bazaar, Exit, Another Magazine, Numero, various Elles, various Marie Claires and so many more to count, with cover appearances for Interview Russia, Vogue Turkey, Elle Poland and Elle Mexico. Asia has worked with fashion brands for everything from their advertising campaigns to lookbooks. Some of these include SEE BY CHLOE, M MISSONI, JIL SANDER, HELMUT LANG, HUGO BOSS and GIORGIO ARMANI. Quite simply, Asia loves to create..... paint, sketch, embroider... Give her a pencil, a brush, roller, needle or even a grinder, and she is on her way. She began playing guitar and is accompanied by her ukulele when travelling. She continues with her love for photography as she feels such joy in capturing that one moment, that one place, that single emotion which remains everlasting. Asia stays fit mentally and physically with running, using the punching bag, conitnuing her karate and her most recent passion, kickboxing. To center it all.... practices yoga.
