The youth film Fanfik, directed by Marta Karwowska and featuring the screen debut of Alin Szewczyk, will premiere on Netflix on May 17. The film, based on Natalia Osinska's book of the same name, is an empathetic story about growing up and finding oneself.
The main character of Fanfik is Tosia, perceived by her peers as an outsider. Her way of escaping from the world in which she feels lost is to write online stories - fanfics. When a new student, Leon, comes to school, unfamiliar feelings begin to grow in her. As she discovers herself and her true identity, she begins to understand that she is a boy, Tosiek.
In addition to Alin Szewczyk, making their debut in the lead role, the film also features Dobromir Dymecki (Marcin - Tosiek's dad) and Jan Cięciara (Leon). Marta Karwowska, creator of hit movies for children and teenagers (Tarapaty, Tarapaty 2), is responsible for directing.
